Pepper
Pepper, a five year old Chinese Crested, has been using the Luma to help in her recovery from complete paralysis to her hind legs following spinal surgery. She was very fortunate to have many healing hands on her, beginning with her neurosurgeon. After spending ten days in the hospital, her main physical therapist recommended hydrotherapy and acupuncture, and Dr. Victoria Klibanoff, the veterinarian who was recommended for acupuncture advised that Pepper use the Luma device. It helped her from the very beginning of her recovery and I continue to use it on Pepper daily, which provides her with a lot of comfort. Usually she will calm herself to sleep and snore through most of her Luma therapy sessions. It has been almost a year since Pepper’s surgery and she has worked very hard and is walking and has regained most of the use of her legs. Her initial prognosis after surgery was that she had a 50/50 chance of ever walking again, and while she definitely still has a disability and cannot do everything that she used to, she is able to have a mostly normal life where she does not seem to be in pain and enjoys playing and has been able to resume most of her normal everyday activities. There is no question that the Luma helped her tremendously and I would recommend it without hesitation. Pepper is always noticeably happier after her Luma therapy sessions. It seems to refresh her and put a spring in her step.
